What Is the RRB Technician Admit Card 2026?

The RRB Technician Admit Card 2026 is the official e-call letter issued by the Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) under the Ministry of Railways, Government of India, for the Computer Based Test (CBT) of Technician Grade-I Signal and Technician Grade-III posts notified under CEN No. 02/2026. A total of 6,557 Technician vacancies are being filled through this centralised employment notice, making the RRB Technician recruitment one of the most-watched Sarkari Naukri 2026 announcements in the railway sector.

The Railway Recruitment Boards released the admit card on 2 October 2026 through the official candidate portal at rrbapply.gov.in. Before the hall ticket release, the boards had issued the exam city intimation slip on 27 September 2026, which told candidates the city where their CBT centre would be located, along with the date and shift of their examination. The examination schedule itself had been notified earlier, on 10 September 2026, and the CBT for the RRB Technician 2026 recruitment is scheduled on 6, 7, 8 and 9 October 2026.

Candidates should note that the e-call letter is available only through online download. The Railway Recruitment Boards have clearly stated that admit cards are not sent by post, and candidates must log in with their registration number and password (date of birth) to download the hall ticket from rrbapply.gov.in. Since the CBT window begins on 6 October 2026 — just four days after the admit card release — candidates are advised to download and print their hall ticket immediately and verify every detail printed on it without delay.

Quick Overview

How to Download the RRB Technician Admit Card 2026?

The RRB Technician admit card 2026 can be downloaded only from the official candidate portal at rrbapply.gov.in. Candidates need two things to log in: their registration number and their password, which is their date of birth in the format prescribed during application. Follow these steps exactly:

1. Visit the official RRB candidate portal: rrbapply.gov.in.
2. On the homepage, locate and click the link for the RRB Technician admit card / e-call letter for CEN No. 02/2026.
3. Select the regional RRB you applied through, if asked to choose your board.
4. Enter your registration number (the number allotted when you submitted the online application for CEN 02/2026).
5. Enter your password, which is your date of birth as recorded in your application (day, month and year in the format asked).
6. Enter the captcha/security code shown on the screen and click Submit or Login.
7. Your e-call letter (admit card) for the Technician CBT will appear on the screen. Check every detail — name, roll number, exam date, shift, exam city and centre — carefully.
8. Click Download and save the PDF. Take at least two clear printouts on A4 paper. You must carry a printed copy to the exam centre.

If you cannot log in, first check that you are entering the registration number exactly as printed in your application confirmation, and that the date of birth matches what you entered in the application form. If the problem persists, contact the helpdesk of your regional RRB or the support contact given on rrbapply.gov.in.

What Details Are Printed on the RRB Technician Hall Ticket?

The e-call letter is a complete identity document for the examination day. It normally carries the candidate's name, registration/roll number, photograph and signature (uploaded during the application), along with the examination details: exam name (Technician CBT, CEN 02/2026), exam date, reporting time, gate-closing time, shift, exam city and the full address of the test centre. It also lists the category and date of birth, and a set of instructions that every candidate must follow.

Cross-check every field the moment you download it. The most common mismatches are a wrong photograph or signature, a misspelt name, or a date of birth that differs from official records. Any discrepancy must be reported to the concerned regional RRB immediately through its official contact channels, well before the 6 October 2026 exam start. Carrying an admit card with wrong personal details can lead to denial of entry at the test centre.

What Documents Must You Carry on Exam Day?

On the CBT day, every candidate for the RRB Technician 2026 exam must carry the following, without exception:

• A printed copy of the RRB Technician admit card (e-call letter) downloaded from rrbapply.gov.in.
• One original valid photo identity proof — Aadhaar card, voter ID, PAN card, passport, driving licence or any other officially accepted ID.
• One or two recent passport-size photographs, as specified in the instructions printed on the admit card.

Candidates should reach the test centre well before the reporting time printed on the hall ticket, because latecomers are not admitted after the gate closes. Only the documents named above are required; prohibited items such as mobile phones, smart watches, calculators, bluetooth devices and study material are not allowed inside the examination hall. Follow every instruction printed on the e-call letter, since centre-specific rules may add further requirements.

What Is the RRB Technician CBT Exam Pattern?

The selection for the 6,557 Technician posts under CEN 02/2026 begins with the Computer Based Test, which is being conducted on 6, 7, 8 and 9 October 2026. Only verified scheduling facts are stated here: the CBT mode, the four exam dates, and the post categories covered (Technician Grade-I Signal and Technician Grade-III). Candidates who qualify the CBT will proceed to the next stages of the selection process, which the official notification of CEN 02/2026 details — including document verification and medical examination as applicable to railway technical recruitment.

For exact question counts, marks distribution, section-wise syllabus and qualifying marks, candidates must refer to the official CEN 02/2026 notification published on the official RRB websites. Do not rely on unverified pattern claims from unofficial sources; any figure you practise with should come from the official notice.
